Some old-school beat-driven ambient, with Blofeld and TAL-Noisemaker synth sounds and 909 drums from Hydrogen. I used my old friend seq24 to come up with the basic patterns, and then imported those in to Ardour 3 to arrange in to the track, adding some variations and automation.

I'm really happy with the lo-fi distorted vibe on this -- I strapped TAP TubeWarmth across the master bus to get the distortion, and added TAP Vibrato on the master bus with very conservative settings (a rate of under 1Hz, and a depth of less than 1%) to fake some tape warble.
